Co. F, 19th Georgia, Infantry - C.S.A.∼Moved to Carroll County GA in 1843, possibly from Coweta County GA. He married Martha Ann Fielder, date unknown. He was a noted Sacred Harp singing teacher in Georgia and was president of the Chattahoochee Singing Convention from its first session in 1852 to 1854 and served as its vice-president from 1866 to 1867. He wrote the tune "Arkansas" which was composed for the publication "The Organ" and was included in the 1870 revision of the "Sacred Harp" songbook.
