Portia Flora was born in Jackson County, Kansas, in October 20, 1889 and died at her home south of Holton, March 8, 1911, aged 21 years, four months and 28 days. She was married to Walter Hindsley, on March 4, 1908, to this union was born one son, Harland, aged one years and nine months. At the age of 17 Portia united with the M.E. church at New Harmony---Interment was made in the Holton Cemetery.

Wigwam, Mrs. Portia Hindsley, who has been sick for several weeks died at her home Wednesday evening. J.J. Flora was called here from Maryland on account of the sickness and death of his daughter, Mrs. Hindsley.
