He was the son of Walter and Portia Flora Hindsley. At the age of two years he was deprived of his mother through death. Since that time his home has been with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Hindsley.
Harlan was an active intelligent lad and gave promise of a noble and useful life. He was an honor student at Wigwam school and a regular attendant at the Evangelical Sunday school. According to human reasoning his departure came all too soon, but we bow in submission to Him with whom are all the secrets of life and death.
The funeral service was held at the home on Sunday afternoon. Service was conducted by Rev. G. F. Barthel and music was furnished by a mixed quartette. The large attendance bore testimony to the esteem in which the deceased was held and also was an expression of universal sympathy for the bereaved.
The Wigwam school led by the teacher, Miss Margaret Flynn, attended the service in a body. Pallbearers were chosen from among Harlan's schoolmates and his Sunday school class. Interment was made in the local cemetery.
