John Edward Loomer, 21, of Kansas City, Kan., whose home was Nevada, died Sunday at a Kansas City hospital of injuries received Saturday in an automobile accident on U.S. 36, three miles west of Cameron. The driver of the car, James Michael Shaw, 25, of Pleasant Hill, also a former Nevadan, was killed in the crash. The car in which they were riding crashed into a bridge near Cameron Saturday.
John Edward Loomer was born in Nevada, Nov. 7, 1947, the son of John Kenneth and Carrie Maude Shumaker Loomer. He attended Nevada schools and graduated from Nevada High school in 1965, after which he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1967. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He had been employed recently as a warehouseman for the G. K. Pillsbury Company, Kansas City, Kan.
Survivors include his parents of Nevada; brothers, Kenneth Dewayne Loomer of Kansas City, Mo., Rodney Earl Loomer and Leonard Loomer of Nevada; sisters, Mildred Hendrix of Nevada and June Kay Loomer of the home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Shumaker of Nevada, Pearl Loomer of Cherokee, Kan., and Arch Loomer of New Mexico.
Funeral arrangements for young Loomer, which are incomplete at this time will be under the direction of the Ferry funeral home of Nevada.
