CLAYTON — James Edwin Graham, 78, of Clayton, died April 1, 2011, at Summers Nursing and Rehab following a long illness.

Born August 4, 1932, at Clayton, he was the son of the late James Ewart and Gertrude C. Graham.

He attended church at the Clayton Baptist Church, was a truck driver until his retirement, loved camping and fishing especially with his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Clara Lou Graham; two brothers, Charles Tommy Graham and William "Billy" Graham and one sister, Ruth Jackie Willey.

Those left to cherish his memory include three sons, James Edwin Graham and wife Lois of Forest Hill, John Graham and Jeff Graham both of North Carolina; two daughters, Elizabeth Sampson and husband David of Kingsport, Tenn., and Stephanie Bolling and husband Timothy of Nimitz; one step-daughter, Veronica Bevins of North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Pat Graham of Missouri, and was loved by many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Clayton Baptist Church with Pastor Mike McCoy and Rev. Sterling Morgan officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
