Marsha Jane Small, formerly of Reading, died Friday, April 29, 2011, at her home in Ship Bottom, N.J. She was 67.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Reading United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Reading Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Reading United Methodist Church, 25 Franklin St., Reading, KS 66868, or to the CJD Foundation, P.O. Box 5312, Akron, Ohio 44334.

SMALL, MARSHA JANE, 67, Kissimmee FL, died Friday, April 29, 2011, at her Ship Bottom, NJ, home.

She was born February 9, 1944, at Emporia, KS, the daughter of Wilson Price and Helen Jane Speece. She graduated from the Reading (KS) high school and attended Emporia State University. She married David R. Small on February 9, 1963. He survives.

Mrs. Small was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was active in five states and Ontario. In one state or another, she held every officer position including President of her Aurora, Ontario chapter (1990) and Woman of the Year (1991) for the Aurora Area Chapters. She was also an active member of the National Republican Party. She worked for insurance agents in KS, CA, NJ, OH and Canada before accompanying her husband to the United Kingdom in 1992.

Mrs. Small is survived by one son Chris Small, Gardner, KS; two daughters Stephanie Holmes, Southampton, NJ and Amanda Small, Manahawkin, NJ; two granddaughters Brittany Weberding and Malia Small, Batesville, IN; one grandson, Izen Small, Manahawkin, NJ; one great-granddaughter Candace Weberding and two great-grandsons, Zadiin and Zel Small, all of Batesville, IN. She is also survived by one brother, Price Wilson Speece, Reading, KS.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 3 and 12:30 to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 4 at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd. Marlton. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4. Mrs. Small will be cremated following the services in NJ. Some of her ashes will be sprinkled at sea in the Atlantic Ocean off her beloved Long Beach Island and the remainder will be buried in the Reading (KS) Cemetery.
