Dies at Shipshewana

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Shipshewana, Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock for William Henry Treece, 81, whose death occurred at his home there last Friday afternoon. Rev. Stephenson, pastor of the church, officiated, and the remains were taken to Sturgis for burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.

The body was brought to the Frurip funeral home Friday and returned to the late home Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Treece was a retired blacksmith and railroad worker. He had been in failing health in recent years.

His wife died five years ago. Surviving are fours sons, Benjamin Treece of Shipshewana, who resided with him, Alvin of Jackson, Michigan, Claude of
Columbia City, and Delbert of Elmira, Michigan; and three daughters, Mrs. Cora Comadoll of Elkhart, Mrs. Linnie Platz of Middlebury and Mrs. Anna Cole of Fort Worth, Texas.

The deceased was born near Colon, Michigan, on April 29, 1859.
