Held Friday
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 4, for Mrs. Nellie Mae Miller, 82, who died Wednesday, Sept. 2, in a Campbell rest home.
The Rev. Duane Lenz, pastor of the Otterbein United Methodist Church officiated for the service held in the chapel of the Higby Mortuary. Burial was in the Aurora Cemetery.
Nellie Mae Miller was born in Aurora on December 15, 1877 [sic], the daughter of Thomas H. and Catherine Nicholas [sic] Smith.
She resided in Aurora until the time of her marriage.
On June 14, 1911 she was united in marriage to Floyd Miller at Aurora. They established their home at Seward, where he was agent for the CB&Q railroad. His employment took him to several locations and at the time of his death in 1959 they were residing in Grand Island.
She continued to reside there until about 1962 when she entered a care home in Central City, where she resided until this spring, [when] she entered a home in Campbell.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Madeline Kavanagh of Tecumseh, one brother, Thomas Smith of Aurora; four sisters, Mrs. Eva Daggett of Ellensburg, Wash.; Mrs. Lila Sellers of Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Cecile Strong of Aurora and Mrs. Lela Hamilton of Aurora; two granddaughters and one great-grandson and many other relatives.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
