"Central City Girl Died Last Saturday
Central City - After suffering from an illness of several months duration, Mary Margaret Bateman, 13, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Bateman of here, died at a Cedar Rapids hospital Saturday. She had been in ill health for the past year, although she had attended junior high school in Central City until recently.
Surviving in addition to her parents are three brothers, Henry, of Winthrop; Frederick of Des Moines; Donald, at home and four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Potter and Mrs. Gertrude Smith, both of George, Ia., Mrs. Laura Peck of Marion, and Mrs. Eva Williams of Central City.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock at the Methodist church here with D.C. Allen officiating."
