Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, March 13, 1994, Sunday, p. 2-B:

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Funeral services for Mr. Leroy Marion Herod, age 75, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday March 14, 19994 at Boone Funeral Home Bossier City Chapel with Rev. Billy Pierce officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation hours begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Herod died Friday March 11, 1994 at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home. He was a native of Hayden, Colorado and a resident of Bossier City. He was a retired Army veteran who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement from the service he was employed by the VA Hospital as an LPN. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Mary Herod of Bossier City; three daughters Merille Mayo of Benton, June Hammonds of Haughton, La. and Denise Dobowitz of Bossier City; two sisters Lila Vance of Jasper, Texas and Dorothy Wisman of Craig, Colorado; three brothers George Herod of Craig, Colorado, Walter Herod of Hennessey, OK and Richard Herod of Colorado Springs, Colorado; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
