"Good Railroad Man is Called
William H. Clark, a faithful member of the Iowa City-Cedar Rapids Interurban Railway company's staff of conductors, during a period of 14 years, passed away at his home, 421 South Dubuque street, at 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
He was a native of Marble Rock, Iowa, where he was born 53 years ago. His parents were Charles and Elizabeth Clark.
Surviving are his widow, and two sons and two duaghters-- Margaret, Kathryn, Jack, and Hamilton. Two brothers, B.C. Clark, Mason City; and D.A. Clark, Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Mesdames Hal Smith, Clarion; B. Sweet, Long Beach, Calif.; and Roy Goslin, also of Long Beach, are living also. The Iowa kinfolk will attend the funeral although the Californians are unable to come east.
The services will be held tomorrow at 2:30, from the family residence. The officiating clergyman will be Rev. F.R. Casselman, Middletown, Iowa, formerly the decedent's family clergyman, years ago.
Mr. Clark was a valued brother of the O.C.R. (Order of Railway Conductors) and the National Union. He was a former member of the Clear Lake Congregation Church.
Mr. Clark has lived in Iowa City about four years following his earlier residence in Cedar Rapids for a much longer period.
He was a tried and true railroad man, always courteous and accommodating to the public. Throughout his long tenure of service, which only ended when his health broke down in September, 19??, he proved himself a good man in every way. As a husband and father, he was loving and kind. The patrons of the road will join in extending to this bereaved family heartfelt sympathy."
