Turin — Nov. 5 — Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Butts Seyer, 26, wife of Watson Seyer, R..D.1, Utica, and a former resident of this village, were held Wednesday at the Gordon funeral home, Utica. Burial was made in Turin Cemetery. Mrs. Seyer died Sunday in a Rome hospital following an illness of three weeks. Death was caused by pneumonia.
Mrs. Seyer was born in May, 1917, in Martinsburg, daughter of Clinton and Nellie Ward Butts. The family later moved to the town of Turin and eleven years ago, following the death of Mrs. Butts, they moved to this village. About seven years ago she was married to Mr. Seyer, and two years later the couple moved to Utica. She attended the local school and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her husband, three children, her father and a brother, Donald of Utica; a brother, Sgt. Charles Butts, Seymour Johnson Field, N.C.; a brother Pvt. Ronald Buts [sic] last heard from in Sicily; and a brother Richard, West Lowville; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Fannie Ward, Turin; five uncles, Milo, Charles and Earl wArd all of Turin, and Fred and Ernest Ward, Constableville; and three aunts, Mrs. C. Herbert Lee, Turin; Mrs. C.B. Allain, Boonville; and Mrs. Kenneth Hill, Utica. Rome Sentinel Friday November 5, 1943.
