US Congressman. A 1935 graduate of the University of Michigan, as a member of the Army Reserves he entered World War II service as a First Lieutenant and saw action in both the European and Pacific theaters before being released from active duty as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1946. He was elected as a Representative from Indiana to the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1951 to 1959. He later became editor and publisher of the Congressional Staff Directory.
