MOUNT CARROLL--Floyd E. Guentner of Mount Carroll was found dead in a field near his farm home Saturday afternoon after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Guentner a retired rural letter carrier, carried mail out of Pearl City for 37 years. He was a real estate and insurance broker. Mr. Guentner was a confirmed member of Loran Reformed Church, and a member of Rural Letter Carriers organization, Pearl Lodge of Pearl City, Pearl City Order of Eastern Star, Freeport Consistory and Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Freeport and Tebala Temple of Rockford.

Born May 28, 1908, in Loran Township, Stephenson County, he was the son of Edward and Anna (Meyer) Guentner. He married Dorothy Arlene Metz May 19, 1942.

Surviving are his widow; and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Van Daele of Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Offenheiser-Schwarz Funeral Home, Pearl City. The Rev. Merle Hawbecker of Lanark, will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic Garden of Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where Pearl Lodge will conduct a service at 8 p.m.
