Farmer and Confederate Soldier. The son of Henderson Green Weaver and Sallie McKenzie, he was a farmer and on October 25, 1861 he enlisted with Company C, 34th North Carolina Infantry; his record is annotated "distinguished service." After the Civil War ended, he married Margaret Ann Haralson on September 16, 1864 in White County, Georgia, They then farmed at Camp Creek, Rutherford County, North Carolina. According to the 1880 Federal Census they had eight children: John, Lilly, Herbert, Winny, Laura, Ralph, Frank and Clifton. Margaret died in 1897. James died in Montezuma County, Colorado in 1913.
