PORT HURON Ernestine R. Gersten, 79, of Port Huron went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 3, 2002, unexpectedly in her home.
She was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Croswell, and was a lifelong area resident. She married Keith E. Gersten on Feb. 8. 1947, in Port Huron. He died Jan. 17, 1976.
She was an active member of Community of Christ Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a son, Randy (Mary) Gersten of Fort Gratiot; daughters Sherry (David) Hunt of Fort Gratiot, and Lori Lynn Gersten of Port Huron; grandchildren David (Jennifer) Hunt, James (Katherine) Hunt, and Jennifer Hunt; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Hunt, James Hunt, and Nicholas St. James.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lenore Vincent; and brother, Ronald Vincent.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Funeral, Saturday, April 6, 2002 at Wadhams Grove Community of Christ. Burial at Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Randy Gersten, David Hunt, David S. Hunt, James Hunt, Jennifer Hunt and David Giles. Memorials may be made to the Community of Christ Church.
