Charles Asher passed away September 3, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 85. Mr. Asher was born on December 21, 1925 in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Asher is survived by his wife, Lora; daughters, Virginia Wilson, Ruth Ann Asher, Mary Christine Cruson, Mary Ann Robles, and Shelly Asher; sons, Charles Asher, Jr., John Asher, & Robert Asher; Consuelo Asher, long-time friend and mother of his children, numerous brothers and sisters; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Asher; brothers, John Asher, Joe Asher, and Richard Asher; and sisters, Virginia Perez, Ruby Rivera, & Ida Mae Villarreal. The memorial service for Charles will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:00am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors rendered by the United States Navy. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Christus VNA Hospice and Palliative Care.
