Mr. Lunde, who had served as music minister of First Baptist Church of Washington for the last 32 years, had been a private music teacher. A soloist, he also had performed on the organ and harpsichord in Washington and abroad. He had appeared on stages at the Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap and the Library of Congress.
He had been active in promoting interfaith concerts in Washington.
Mr. Lunde, who came to Washington in the mid-1960s, was born in Wisconsin. He attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota and Yale University's music school. He also studied music in Europe, including conducting, organ and harmony under Nadia Boulanger at the Fountainbleau School in France.
Survivors include his companion, James Bedore of Washington; and two sisters in Wisconsin.
