Mary E. (Markley) Luttman of Elkhart passed away on Saturday (March 6, 2010) at the age of 81 at Elkhart General Hospital at 11:57 a.m.
She was born April 6, 1928, in Warren, Ohio, to William Overhulser and Ruth (Williams) Overhulser. She married Raymond Markley in November 1948 in Elkhart. She then remarried Wymond Luttman in June 1978 in Atlantic City, N.J., and he passed away in 2001.
Mary was a 1946 Elkhart graduate. She was employed by the YMCA/YWCA for 25 years and also was self-employed as a seamstress until 2007. Mary also was named in the Who's Who of American Women for 1976-77.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Stine of Goshen; one son, Gary (Anita Albaugh) Markley of Elkhart; one brother, William (Phyllis) Overhulser of Union, Mich.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Markley; and one brother, Daniel Overhulser.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. and burial will be at Prairie Street Cemetery.
