Funeral services were held Monday, December 5th at the Mowen Funeral Home - William A. Scarlett Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Diamond officiating.
Ruth was born in Nuremberg, Germany, the daughter of the late Hans George and Babette (Ulses) Dembelein.
She completed her education in Nuremberg and shortly afterwards married a young American serviceman, Carl Reid on February 23, 1945. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1963. Moving to the United States with her husband, Ruth was a homemaker and raised their three children.
Ruth enjoyed knitting, sewing and doing crochette. She loved working in her vegetable garden and flower garden. Ruth was a great baker, her pies were described as beautiful.
Those who cherish her memory include: daughter, Doris Reid of Owosso, son, Carl (Kim) Reid Jr. of Brighton and daughter, Susan Munson of Florence, South Carolina; grandchildren, Eric, Michael, Christopher, Gabrielle, Jeffry, Megan, Emilee and Virginia; special cousin, Marion Reisser of Nuremberg.
