Jess Sisk
Jess Sisk, 82, of Detroit, MI., formerly of Equality, died Monday, June 29, 1998 in Detroit.
He was born in Junction on Feb., 5, 1916 to the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Wood) Sisk.
His wife, the former Bernice Glover, preceded him in death.
Surviving are five children: Jean Stockel, Vicki Polderdyke, Eddie Sisk, Kenny Sisk, and Larry Sisk, all of Detroit, 14 grandchildren also survive along with the following brothers and sisters, Nathilea Prather, Herbert Sisk and Peggy Sisk, all of Equality, Carroll Sisk of Vienna, Helen Hibbs of Fort Worth, Texas, Thomas Sisk of Tucson, Ariz. And Thelma DeLost of Canton.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Jewell Sisk; two brothers, Cecil Sisk and Bill Sisk, two sisters, Beulah Wyant and Nigel Sisk and a son, Donald Sisk.
Mr. Sisk operated a sewing machine sale service in Detroit for more than 30 years.
He graduated from Equality High School in 1934 and was a member of the basketball team that took third place in the state basketball tournament that year under the direction of coach Dolph Stanley.
Funeral Services took place in Detroit on Friday, July 3rd.
Interred at Elmwood Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan.
