Janette E. Ripple, 53, of 8400 Salisbury St., Lacona, a native of Adams, died Friday at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. from complications of open heart surgery on Jan. 2.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Summerville Funeral Home, 8192 Harwood Drive, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Janet Gibbs, pastor of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Adams Rural Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Surviving are three sons, John H., stationed at Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome, David, Watertown, and Michael, Lacona; two granddaughters; her step-father and mother, Joseph and Bertha Truesdale, Watertown; a sister, Mrs. Donald (Joan) Smith, Paragould, Ark.; a brother, Gary Britton, Sandy Creek; an aunt; two nephews and a niece.

Born Oct. 22, 1937, in Adams, daughter of John and Bertha Phillips Britton, she was graduated from Henderson Central School in 1956.

She married George H. Ripple Sept. 7, 1959, in the Methodist Rectory, Belleville, with the Rev. Miles L. Hutchinson officiating. Mr. Ripple was a retired Army sergeant. The couple moved to Lacona in 1974. Mr. Ripple died in June 5, 1989.

Mrs. Ripple was a member of the Cable Trail Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 8534, Lacona, and Lake Ontario Chapter 124, Order of the Eastern Star, Sandy Creek.
