Cynthia was born May 20, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and then her Masters from the University of Northern Colorado. She proudly served her country as a Captain in the Air Force and at the end of her tours in the military, Cynthia settled in Thousand Oaks, California working for Northrop Grumman Corporation and traveled the world, meeting new friends, and learning about different places and cultures. She moved to Raleigh, NC in 2001 to be closer to her family and worked for the State of North Carolina in the Office of Information Technology Services. She continued to explore the world and worked with a variety of organizations to improve her community.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Donald J. Beck; brother Donald G. Beck; and nephew Thomas J. Beck II.
She is survived by her mother, Evelyn I. Beck of Raleigh, brother Thomas J. Beck and his wife Robin L. Beck of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; sister Lynne M. Beck of Raleigh; sister Laurie J. Beck of Greenville; niece Melissa L. Beck of Oak Creek, Wisconsin; niece Jennifer A. Beck of Coronado, California. She also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a wide network of friends.
The family will receive friends December 6th, Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:00 at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road Raleigh, NC.
The funeral will take place at Church of the Nativity, 8849 Ray Road Raleigh, NC, December 7th, at 11:30 am, followed immediately by internment at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Church of the Nativity.
