Dr Harley W Black was a well known dentist in Syracuse where he practiced for 40 years. Dr Black was a rough-rider with the Troop D cavalry unit and in 1916, served eleven months at the Mexican border during the Pancho Villa uprisings. He served in France and there he was commissioned a captain with the famed 27th Division. A 1909 graduate of the University of Buffalo Dental School and Syracuse University.
