Vivian was born in Iowa, however spent most of her adult life in the Los Angeles areas of Westchester, San Fernando Valley and Torrance, before moving to Reno in 1989. In her retirement, she loved to work crossword puzzles, surfing the internet, playing video poker at the Peppermill Casino and sharing barbeque chicken with her loving son Grover, who was her caretaker.

Her husband Joseph Robert Taylor proceded her in death in 1997. They have 3 loving children, Joseph Jr., Kathleen and Grover James. She will be remembered for her wit, wisdom, kindness and unconditional love for her family.

Vivian and her husband Joseph's ashes were scattered in the sea off the coast of Kawai, the Garden Isle of Hawaii in December, 2005.
