Tazewell Tyler became a doctor and served as a surgeon in the Confederate Army. He married Nannie Bridges (b. 1832) in 1857 and they had 2 children, James (1858 - ) and Martha (1860 - 1943). Dr. Tyler went west to California after the war. Tazewell died divorced after turning to alcohol and probably suffered from what we today call PTSD (post traumatic stress syndrome) due to the carnage he witnessed as a Civil War surgeon.
