MRS R. A. MURRAY, OF NEWPORT, VT

NEWPORT. Vt. - Mrs. R. A. Murray, 67. died on Friday. May 2, 1969, in Orleans County Memorial Hospital, Newport, Vt., where she had been admitted April 14 and underwent surgery April 23.

Mrs. Murray, the former Katie Ellie, youngest daughter of Ewen and Jessie Graham MacLeod was born in Milan, Que., on March 28, 1902.

After finishing school she was employed by the CPR as secretary at Windsor Street Station in Montreal.

On Dec. 7, 1943, she was married to Roderick Alastair Murray in Montreal and went to live in Springfield. Mass., later moving to Graniteville. Vt., where both Mr. and Mrs. Murray were employed by the Rock of Ages Corporation until Mr. Murray had to give up his work in 1962 due to illness. Mrs. Murray continued work there until 1965 In the meantime they moved to Barre. Vt., after selling their home in Graniteville. Mr. Murray died April 11. 1966 at the Barre City Hospital. Mrs. Murray moved to Newport, Vt, in April 1967.

The remains rested in Bury Funeral Home, Bury, Que., from Friday evening till Sunday afternoon, before being taken to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Scotstown. where the funeral service, which was largely attended, was held at 2:30 p.m. on May 5, conducted by Rev. Donald Campbell of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, in Sherbrooke.

The soloist, Henry Mouland of Milan, sang The Old Rugged Cross, accompanied by the organist. Mrs. W. G. MacLeod. Survivors are two sisters and a brother. Mrs. Mary Morin, Newport, Vt, Mrs. Stanford Perkins, Westbrook, Me., D. Edward MacLeod. Montreal, seven sisters-in-law and many other relatives.

The bearers were Kenneth and Donald MacDonald, Malcolm, William and Leslie MacLeod and Dale MacIver.

Burial was in Dell Cemetery
