Barbara M. Wagner, 70, of Sandy Hook, formerly of Milford, beloved wife of 48 years of Donald Wagner, died peacefully February 11, at Yale-New Haven Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of Harold and Loretta Shackleton.

Mrs Wagner graduated from Blessed Sacrament parochial school and Harding High School. She had been a Milford resident for over 40 years prior to Sandy Hook.

She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who delighted in time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was selfless and giving, and always devoted to her family and loved ones.

She loved children, and later in her life drove a school bus, which fulfilled the joy she received being around them.

Survivors in addition to her loving husband include two beloved children, Laurie L. DiNallo and her husband, Michael, of Newtown and Mark D. Wagner of Sandy Hook; four cherished grandchildren; and a brother-in-law. She was predeceased by a sister, Darlene.

Friends may call Friday, February 17, from 5 to 8 pm, in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 18, at 10 am, meeting directly at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown. Interment will follow in St Michael Cemetery, Stratford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605 or at www.lls.org.
