He was assigned to Company C and saw combat in Belgium & France. Wounded, slightly, July 28, 1918, on the East Poperinghe Line, Belgium. Returned to the States, March 6, 1919, docking at Hoboken, NJ. He marched in the " Welcome Home Parade ", for the 27th Division, up 5th Avenue, in New York City, March 25, 1919. Discharged from the Army, April 1, 1919, Camp Upton, NY.
