Gerald "Jerry" J. Gignac was born on Wednesday; August 28, 1946 in Menominee; Menominee County, Michigan. Gerald was the son of the late Fred and Rose (Charles) Gignac. On Saturday; February 10, 1968, he married the former Carol Juntunen at Saint Ann's Catholic Church in Menominee and the couple just celebrated their 39th Anniversary. In 1982 Jerry and Carol moved to Green Bay where they made their home and watched their children and grandchildren grow. He loved coaching girls softball and had the honor to coach his two daughters. Jerry coached for many years for the Allouez Girls Softball League and was the assistant coach for the Tritons of Notre Dame High School. He was an avid sports enthusiast from football to baseball but he especially cherished being able to watch his grandchildren participate. Jerry was an unofficial coach of the Green Bay Packers and was an avid fan. He was an animal lover but was especially partial to his dogs. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many who will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. Gerald "Jerry" J. Gignac, age 60, of Allouez; Brown County, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday; April 10, 2007 at a local hospital. Those left to mourn his passing are by his loving wife: Carol of Allouez; Brown County, Wisconsin. Two daughters and sons-in-law: Joanne and Mark Rehberg of Green Bay; Brown County, Wisconsin. Brenda and Michael Rehberg of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Five grandchildren: Riley, Allison, Spencer, Andrew and Lacey. One brother and sister-in-law: Roger and Joan Gignac of Milwaukee; Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers Don and Harvey. May they rest in peace. Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday; April 13, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, which is located at 130 Saint Matthew Street; Green Bay, Wisconsin. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. at the church with Monseigneur James Feely officiating. The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to the Staffs and Residents of Manor Care East Nursing Home for all of their friendship and support. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Aleksander V. Rosic for all of his care and compassion.
