Don married Etta Britt on Sept 9 1935 in Detroit and they had three children Cozette, Onalee and Don
Don was a member of the Pigeon Lions Club, Conservation Club and the Fire Department. He was also enjoyed photography he was an avid hunter, fisherman and boater who enjoyed cooking what he caught. His ability in the kitchen carried over into his membership in the Fire Department, which was known for its big feeds. They fared well with the able "Chappy" Sturm as chef.
Don was also a owner with his father of C.F. Sturm and Son Auto Sales, when he passed away the dealership was passed onto James(Cozette) McCormick.
Survivors are his two daughters Cozette(James) McCormick and Onalee(James) Kervin; son Don; three grandchildren David, Michael, and James.
Preceding him in death were his mother Gertrude; his wife Etta who died Dec 10 1963(just 18 days before Don).
