Mrs. Hodson was born in Wyandotte, MI on July 2, 1920, the daughter of Arthur and Lillian Dowsett. She married Gordon S. Hodson, Jr. on February 1, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2001. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Remembering her always will be her family of many loved ones; 4 children that include Judith Shedd and husband Thomas of Burton, Charles Hodson and wife Mary formerly of Fenton, Janet Carnell of Flint, and Kathy Maynard of Clinton Township. She was an affectionate grandmother to 15 grandchildren, Lori Bourne and husband Harry III, Thomas Shedd Jr., Charles Hodson, Jr. and wife Christine, James Hodson and wife Rebecca, Julie Potter and husband Rodney, Kay Lynn Carnell, Michael Shedd, Sr. and wife Beth, Dennis Carnell, Jr. and wife Colleen, Dane Carnell II and wife Jackie, John Hodson and wife Patricia, Scott Shedd and wife Meagan, Audra Conaway and husband Trevor, Christopher Carnell and wife Kele, Jeffery Hodson, and Trisha Etheridge and husband Jason. She was blessed with 28 great-grandchildren, Danielle, Cody, and Kyle Bourne; Kristen Taylor, Faith and Amber Hodson; James, Jr., Joshua, Dustin and Allison Hodson, Ashley, Arieanna, and Alexis Potter; Michael Shedd, Jr.; Victoria Carnell; Drew and Cooper Carnell; Damon and Isabell Hodson; Avery and Tucker Shedd; Trevor II and Katelyn Conaway; Jake and Tess Carnell; Nolan, Ryan and Madison Ethridge. Yola also had
five great-great grandchildren, Landon, Brandon and Blake Taylor and Bradley Coons and Brody Bourne. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Gordon, brother Lyle Dowsett, as well as precious great-grandson Dane Allan Carnell III. We will miss her feisty disposition, her caring ways, her unconditional love, and her spunk. She has now joined those she loved in God's realm, and she will remain forever in our hearts.
