Myrtle Edna Pilbeam was born 14 September 1880 to Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Pilbeam and his second wife Adeline Ormacinda Masten in Britton, MI. She was the third child and oldest daughter. She married young, to Maurice Adams, and in 1897 they had a daughter, Delphene. In 1900 she married Charles Erwin Grannis. Together they had four more children; Charles Alton, Marian Minerva, Leon "Pete" and Adeline Emma. Erwin died in 1924 and Myrtie married former brother-in-law Foster Kilpatrick. Foster passed away in 1937 and is buried near his children in Marble Park. Myrtie suffered a massive heart attack and died suddenly on 8 January 1945 at home with daughter Adeline and son-in-law Bud Miller. She was 65 years old. She was a beloved mother and grandmother.
