(The American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) consisted of the United States Armed Forces sent to Europe in World War I. During the United States campaigns in World War I the AEF fought in France alongside French and British allied forces in the last year of the war, against Imperial German forces.)

Enlisted, April 3, 1916, in Company A, 10th NY Infantry Regiment, at Albany, NY. The 10th NY Infantry Regiment, was called up for service on the Mexican border in 1916, but not ordered to the Mexican border. Transferred Dec. 5, 1917, to Company A, 106th Machine Gun Battalion, 27th Division. After training at Camp Wadsworth, SC, the 106th Machine Gun Battalion deployed to Europe, May 10, 1918. He saw combat in both Belgium & France, his death was caused by broncho pneumonia, on Oct. 16, 1918.
