Father: Edward Henry Schnitzer
Mother: Mary Ellen O'Leary Schnitzer
Brothers: Edward Henry Schnitzer
Ferdinand Schnitzer
Sister: Marie Louise Schnitzer
Son: Robert Edward Schnitzer
Wife: Mary Alice Schnitzer

Grandson of well-known architect F. F. Schnitzer, who created many buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

Descended from royalty in Bavaria, Germany, including Bavarian prince and Holy Roman Emperor.

My grandfather Lawrence was very intelligent and loved to learn about and talk about many different subjects. He traveled by train across the United States and was a gifted writer who wrote beautiful poems about the wide open spaces out West. Wyoming was one of the states he was especially enamored with.

He spent a lot of time with my dad Robert Schnitzer when my dad was little. Although my grandfather passed away when my dad was only 8 years old, they had wonderful times together and interesting discussions about many subjects including travel, history, and dogs. My grandfather made wooden toys for my dad by hand when my dad was a little boy. Both had a wonderful sense of humor and had fun in addition to being intelligent and intellectually curious. They always wanted to learn and discuss new ideas and new information.

First communion at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Mansfield, Ohio.

Graduated from St. Peter's Catholic School, Mansfield, Ohio.

Married on September 2, 1931 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
