Dona was born Sept. 12, 1951 in Livingston, the daughter of Donald L. and Jean (Knutsen) Glass. She attended Livingston schools, graduating from Park High School in 1969. While in high school, Dona was active in Usherettes and TNT. Following her graduation she worked for Wilcoxson's, Payne Realty and the Northern Pacific Credit Bureau. She continued to work for the Credit Bureau after it became known as Livingston Employees Federal Credit Union and then Sky Federal Credit Union for 32 years. At the time of her death, Dona was employed by the Gallatin County Treasurer's Office, in Bozeman Montana, as an administrative clerk.

On March 30, 1972 she married Gary D. Barnhart in Elko, Nevada. They lived in Livingston, Montana, raising their family of two children, Gary Jr. and Angela.

Dona was always willing and eager to help others, especially her family, with all of their endeavors, projects and activities. She loved all things 50s and 60s including music, wearing poodle skirts and dancing. She and Gary enjoyed traveling in their classic cars to rod runs. She also enjoyed traveling with 'the girls' to concerts and places where she could lay by the pool, like Las Vegas or Hawaii. She loved spending time at the family cabin roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire. In the last three years she loved spending as much time as possible with her grandsons whom she called the "joy of her life." She also loved scrapbooking and collecting Barbies and Coca-Cola memorabilia.

Survivors include her husband, Gary of Livingston; son, Gary Barnhart Jr. of Bozeman; daughter, Angela (Chad) Tiffney of Belgrade; grandchildren, Gary Michael and Joseph Gabriel Barnhart of Livingston; brother, Gary (Marlene) Glass and sister, Peggy Glass, both of Livingston; numerous nieces and nephews; and her Labrador "grand-puppies," Bruno and Shelby. She was preceded in death by her parents.
