Confederate Soldier. Served with North Carolina forces in Co. A, 1st Battalion Junior Reserves. In the Federal Census of 1880 he is listed as a single farmer and his mother, Caroline Curtis (born aabout 1820) is living with him. In the 1920 census he is still listed as a farmer and his wife, Mary, is with him at that time. He died about six months after his wife, Mary, died.
