"Requiem High Mass for DeSales A. Bissett, 71, of 86 West Hampshire Street, Piedmont, who died Monday afternoon in Newton D, Baker VA Hospital, Martinsburg, was celebrated this morning in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport.
Celebrant of the Mass was Rev. Charles H. Quinn, assistant pastor. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harry Farris, Louis Domenick, Scott Dawson, William Stump, Russell McRobie, Frank Malloy, Barrell Poland and Ralph Biggs, all members of Kelly- Mansfield Post 52, American Legion.
Members of the American Legion color guard were Patrick McGoye, Kenneth Riley, Carl Bosley, John Nau and Joseph Fisher.
The last surviving member of his immediate family, Mr. Bissett was born at Windom and was a son of the late James and Bridget (Manning) Bissett.
He had resided here all of his life. His wife Mrs. Ruby (Kelly) Bissett died 14 February 1959.
A retired employee of the Luke mill of West Virginia Pulp and Paper Co., Mr. Bissett was a veteran of World War I. He held membership in St. Peter's Church, Knights of Columbus, and Kelly-Mansfield Post 52, American Legion.
Mr. Bissett is survived by a number of nieces and nephews."
