ABRAMS, ISADORE RICHARD - age 89, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday morning, May 15, 2012 at his home. He was born in Norton, Virginia on October 24, 1922 to the late John and Alice Abrams and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence and Monte Abrams and sister, Flora Stollin. He was a member of Heska Amuna Synagogue and became a 32nd, Degree Mason in 1956. A graduate of Corbin, Kentucky High School in 1941, he entered into the United States Army, serving overseas during World War II. Following his military service, Isadore returned home to Middlesboro, Kentucky and entered into the family business at John's Store for 45 years. He became Commander of the American Legion in Middlesboro, Kentucky for one year and helped to arrange many funerals for military being returned after World War II. Following a tornado in Middlesboro, KY, John's store was damaged and the decision to close was made. Isadore then received his real estate license in Knoxville, TN and later received his brokerage license and opened A & T Realty. He retired his license in 2006. Isadore and his two brothers, Sam and Monte became part owners of Mill Agent in 1963 and Isadore has continued to be part owner. Isadore is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Abrams; sons, Alan and Terry Abrams and brother, Sam Abrams. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heska Amuna Synagogue, 3811 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 or to the charity of your choice . The family wants to sincerely thank UT Hospice and his caregivers. Family and friends will meet 3:00 p.m. Thursday at New Jewish Cemetery for a graveside service with Rabbi Alon Ferency officiating.
