MARIE F. KOMJATI (Hotchkiss), age 92, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 in Medina. Marie was born March 8, 1920 in Cleveland to the late Frank Marion and Marie Katherine (Chabek) Hotchkiss. Marie was married to Joseph Komjati in 1941 at the Medina United Church of Christ, Congregational and spent the remainder of her life in Medina and as a member of the church. Marie was employed by GTE (formerly the Northern Ohio Telephone Co. and now Verizon) where she started her career as a switchboard operator, was promoted to Supervisor, Chief Operator and retired in 1980 as a Customer Service and Training Representative. She loved to golf and spent time during the winter months at her home in North Port, FL. Marie is the beloved mother of Patricia Penland and Gary (Jan) Komjati; loving grandmother of Jeffery (Barbara) Komjati and Julia (Jonathan) Dykstra; dear great-grand-mother of Rebecca Wesli and Murphy James Dykstra; sister of Marian Mercer and Leslie Hotchkiss; and aunt to many. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, to whom she was married 64 years, in 2005; and her brothers Howard, Art, Harry and Gene Hotchkiss. Service 11:00 am, Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Medina United Church of Christ, Congregational, 217 E. Liberty St., Medina 44256, with burial to follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Neal Sadler will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-4 AND 6-8:00 P.M. on WEDNESDAY at WAITE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 765 N. COURT ST. in MEDINA.
