He married Mary Rosetta Ann Birge on August 13, 1911 in Arkansas. They were married for 54 years when he died. They had ten children: Eual, Homer, John, Thelma, Della, Doyle, Lee, Lula, Margie and Shirley.
He moved to Oklahoma from Arkansas when he was around 35 years old. They first settled in Seminole County then moved to McIntosh County and eventually settled in Tulsa County. They lived out their later years just outside Broken Arrow. He was my grandfather. We all called him Papa. He was a very quiet man. He was much loved by all his family.
