Irene E. Pingrey, 95, died Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY where she had been a resident for the past 6 months.
Born January 18, 1922 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of David and May (Snyder) Clark.
Irene retired from Tanglewood Elementary School in South Glens Falls as a dietary manager. She was a member of the Rebekah's Sandy Hill Auxiliary #75 and served as association president of New York State.
She enjoyed gardening, bowling, quilting, and her pets. Irene was also an avid card player. When she moved to Cobleskill in 2006, she became of member of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church.
Irene was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, in 1982, and her son, William, in 1974.
Irene was also a longtime member of the Fortsville United Methodist Church and the pastor, Rev. Paul Dufford, will officiate at the graveside service.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey (Anne) Pingrey of Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren: Rebecca (Kenneth) Colon of Esperance, Robert Pingrey (John Thompson) of Cobleskill, Laurie Runyan of Elmira Heights, Jennifer (Dave) Smith of Pittsford, NY, and Captain Andrew (Sarah) Pingrey, serving in the United States Army, of Japan; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at South Side Cemetery in South Glens Falls, NY.
There will be no calling hours.
