Spirit of Jefferson Farmers Advocate, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia Thu, 14 Apr 1948: "Died In R. R. Station-Mrs. Minnie Stuart Severs, aged about 60 years, of Piedmont, W. Va., died suddenly in the B & O Railroad Station at Piedmont on Friday evening as she was waiting for a train to come to Harpers Ferry. She was accompanied by a sister-in-law and they were planning to spend the weekend with Mrs. J. L. Eackles and family, in Bolivar. Mrs. Severs was a cousin of the Mr. Eackles. She was a daughter of Mrs. Theresa Leavy Stuart and the late Mr. Henry Stuart of Bolivar, where she was born and reared. Her husband, the late Clyde Severs, who was a B & O Railroad employee, died several years ago. Surviving in addition to her aged mother, are several sisters and brothers. The funeral was held on Monday from Bowls (sic) Funeral Home and interment was made in Piedmont. The deceased was the grand-daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Stuart, who were owners for many years of the property on Washington Street, which was purchased years ago by Mr. Roy Rockenbaugh, who in turn sold it to Mrs. Jeannette Mills, of Millville, who now conducts a grocery store there. Mrs. Eackles, accompanied by her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. Donald Eackles, attended the funeral."

Cumberland Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 11 Apr 1948: "TRI-TOWNS, April 10-Mrs. Minnie E. Severs, 63, of 111 West Hampshire Street, Piedmont, died suddenly of a heart attack last night. She was stricken on West Fairview Street and died in the beauty parlor operated by Miss Irene O'Gorman. Born at Harper's Ferry, W. Va., Mrs. Severs was a daughter of Mrs. James LaRue, Piedmont, and the late Mr. LaRue. {James LaRue was her step-father} She had resided in Piedmont 45 years and was a member of Piedmont Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her husband, Clyde Severs, died 10 years ago. Surviving are her mother, three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Bissett and Mrs. Paul Kooken, Westernport, and Mrs. Joseph McGreevy, Piedmont, and five brothers, William LaRue, Piedmont; Raymond LaRue, Hamilton, Ohio; Louis LaRue, Beryl, W. Va.; Clyde LaRue, Keyser, W. Va., and Richard LaRue, Westernport. The body is at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, where services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p. m. by Rev. Kenneth Harrington, Cumberland. Burial will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport."
