Monte Earl Fremont Grant Adams was born on Aug. 21, 1910 in Fresno, CA to Frank Joe Adams and Mabel Flaye Buell Adams. He spent most of his childhood in Falls City, Nebraska. Monte joined the Navy in 1927 and moved to San Diego, CA where he met and married Ruby Mae Thompson on Mar. 23, 1932. They had 2 children. He retired from the Navy as a Lt. Commander in 1948 after serving during WWII and 21 years of service. The Adams family moved quite often while in the Navy but then settled in La Mesa, CA and lived in the same home, that they designed and built, until they both passed away, Ruby in 1998 and Monte in 2001.
