Guy Donald Pierce (Don) passed away peacefully at his home on May 11 at the age of 90 with his family at his side. He was born in Detroit and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan all his life. Don was a member of the Detroit Goodfellows, China-Burma-India Veterans Association, People to People, Society of American Engineers, Engineering Society of Detroit, and worked as a volunteer at the Friendship House of Hamtramck and many other organizations. Don enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II for three and a half years serving as a weather officer in the U.S. and China with final rank as captain. He was a graduate of Lawrence Institute of Technology and worked as a mechanical engineer at Cross Company for 35 years. Recently Don attended First Baptist Church of Coldwater and sang in a church choir most of his life. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Lawrence Gjeldum and is survived by his wife, Helen Jane Pierce (Wheeler), children: Regi (Ralph) Valentine, Ed (Stephanie) Pierce, John (Chris) Pierce, Donna Gjeldum, 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 foster children. Don was a kind, loving, and generous man who opened his heart and home to many. Donations in Don¡¦s name may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, First Baptist Church of Coldwater, or the American Cancer Society.

Please allow Don's family to be dismissed first and then proceed directly to the Activity Center. We ask that you allow the "Senior Saints¨ to go first in the buffet line.
