Bio

I've been interested in genealogy as long as I can remember. My first big push toward documenting my family's ancestry was in 1981. Over the last 35 years, I have found, acquired, and synthesized geneology information on the Mendoza (back to 1710), Maissiat (back to 1650), Moran, Cabrera, Boz, Deanda, Lamb, and Gomez families. Note that the surname Massiatte, Massiate, Masiate, or Massiatt are all variants of a Spanish interpretation of the French surname Maissiat. Thus, descendants of Jose Victoriano Maissiat Cabrera (born in 1873) typically use the surname Massiatte. However, his sister, Petra Maissiat Cabrera de Mendoza (born 1870) used the correct spelling in early documents.
