I have resided in the USA since the age of 16, after leaving my native land of Trinidad & TObago. Even though I am "afraid of ghosts", I always had a fascination with cemeteries. I used to actually sit in Lapeyrouse cemetery, located in the center of our capital city of Port of Spain, and study for my finals. On a recent trip home, I visited the cemetery and took pics of some old grave stones. Some were of people I knew, but more fascinating was the fact that I was able to see family names which co-incided with the names of many, many of the streets I traversed as a child.I had always wondered about the history of those street names, as well as the names of some of our old businesses in Port of Spain... and now I know! All of the answers laid right within the walls of the cemetery.I am a clerk at a state office....love taking pics and walking thru the cemetery. NOW, my strolls will have an added purpose purpose.
