My Mother's relatives settled in Springdale, PA. after immigrating from Nyíregyháza, Hungary,(the capital of the county of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg.) My Grandmother was about 4 yrs. old when they immigrated. My GGrandparents owned a General Store on what I think was Pittsburg St. I have pics of my Mother and Aunt when they were small standing in front of the store. The people buried in the cemetary are my Great Grandparents, Great Uncle and Great Aunts. I have visited the cemetery many times since 1960. I brought my Daughter when she was about 10-12 so she could see where her GGGrandparents were buried. I live in S.E. MI in a town, White Lake, about 35 mins N.W. of Detroit. My Grandmother and her Husband moved to Detroit (Delray section of SE Detroit) after leaving Springdale. I am VERY interested in my Family History and was so very happy to see this page. Thanks, Rich. And, thank you to St. Mark's Lutheran Church for keeping the cemetery looking so nice. When we first came in 1960, it was so overgrown we could barely find the stones. My Grandmother bought the stone that is there now. And,she made sure that the cemetery was maintained. Her name was Helen Magyar Cherny Hunyady.
