I have always been interested in learning about my ancestors. My mother, Roberta Diorio Meier came from a large Italian family. The Diorios are a close family, and while my mother is now deceased, I cherish the family ties I have with my relatives. I didn't know much about my father's side of the family but now thanks to Ancestry.com and all the records that are now available along with the work done by my Dad's brother, Norman Meier, who shared my love of genealogy, I have a lot of names, dates and records to help me with my family tree. Alas, like my father Robert Meier and my brother Robert Meier, Jr., Uncle Norman as well as his two other brothers William and Edward Meier are deceased. I have all the papers he sent me over the years as well as two certificates stating that my great grandparents, Conrad Meier and Charlotte Steimle Meier came through Ellis Island. Conrad Meier was from Seebach, Switzerland and Charlotte Steimle Meier from Degerloch, Germany.

I will be visiting grave sites and posting photos and information as I continue my journey. I feel a deep connection to my ancestors and hope to learn more about them as I travel to the places they lived.
