Born August 4, 1957 to Alvin James Swegan and Dorothy June (nee Blue) Swegan. He was the fifth of six children: Carl Edward Swegan, Cathleen Elinor Swegan, Margaret Louise Swegan, Alvin James Swegan Jr. and Earl Emerson Swegan. Earl was the first of the children to pass away on May 1, 2016.
On December 24, 1977 he married Cheryl Ann Hansen. He adopted her daughter, Cynthia Ann Swegan. They had two more children, Noel Christianna Swegan and John Norman Swegan Jr. Their marriage ended in November of 2016 in Divorce. The following October, Cheryl passed away due to heart disease.
